Luxembourg is set to enchant visitors once again this summer with a variety of events and music festivals. Don't miss these opportunities to make the most of the fine weather and fill up on energy! Musical, artistic, festive and cultural events for all ages and tastes! Once again, the atmosphere will be magical and festive, to the delight of locals and tourists alike.

Second Luxembourg Pride Run on July 11

Luxembourg Pride Week will take place this year from July 6 to 14 in Luxembourg and Esch-sur-Alzette. In this context, the Luxembourg Pride Run will be organized by the City of Luxembourg and ING Bank, the initiator of the Luxembourg Marathon. Throughout Luxembourg Pride Week, the LGBTIQ+ cause will be highlighted to promote open-mindedness and inclusion for all.

The Luxembourg Pride Run also aims to defend the rights of LGBTIQ+ people. Anyone can take part, even non-athletes. Everyone can run twice at their own pace.

The Pride Run is organized by the Rosa Lëtzebuerg ASBL association, which is very active on LGBTIQ+ issues.

Musical entertainment all summer long

All summer long, festivals and other musical events will be delighting our ears. Various events will punctuate our weekends and evenings in Luxembourg.

Luxembourg Open Air festival and Francofolies in Esch-sur-Alzette

The music season kicks off on May 3 and 4, 2024 with the Luxembourg Open Air festival. In the incredible setting of the Belval blast furnaces, vibrate to the sound of electronic music provided by a dozen DJs.

Then join the 25,000-strong Francofolies festival in Esch-sur-Alzette. Attend concerts by international artists from June 7 to 9, 2024. Every year, the trendy town of Esch-sur-Alzette welcomes French-speaking artists for a major open-air festival: the Francofolies. Don't forget to buy a ticket for the Mammendag. The whole family will be delighted!

Fête de la musique, Urban Piano and Summer in the City in Luxembourg

In May and June, the Urban Piano musical operation transforms passers-by into street musicians, for the space of a moment. The 9th edition will take place from May 16 to June 18, 2024.

The Fête de la Musique will then take over. Enjoy free concerts and musical entertainment in the capital and throughout Luxembourg.

The summer continues with free "City Sounds" concerts. DJ sets, local and international bands set the Champ du Glacis on Limpertsberg on fire.

The "Siren's Call" music festival atNeimënster Abbey will round off the musical season in style on Saturday June 29, 2024, with sounds from the 90s, electro, rap and pop, for all to enjoy.

On July 20, 2024, the "Blues'n Jazz Rallye" will enchant the old districts of Pfaffenthal, Clausen and Grund. Discover or rediscover these historic districts in a magical, musical atmosphere, with numerous jazz and blues concerts. The concerts are free of charge.

Open-air concerts

From May 12 to September 8, 2024, the Place d'Armes bandstand will come alive on Wednesday and Friday evenings from 7pm to 8pm, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 11am to 12pm. Plëss in Concert" is the perfect way to make the most of the square's pretty terraces. Ideal for aperitifs with family and friends!

The traditional "Concerts de Midi au Parc" will once again delight classical music lovers. All you have to do is visit the Villa Vauban at lunchtime from June 7 to August 30, 2024.

You'll also find open-air concerts on the Kinnekswiss in Luxembourg's Parc Municipal from July 5 to 7, 2024 with the "Kinnekswiss loves..."festival. Enjoy a musical picnic. In 2023, Stewart Copeland of the group Police, accompanied by the Luxembourg Chamber Orchestra and the Grand-Ducal Military Band, thrilled the entire lawn. An unforgettable moment in store again this year! Reserve your dates now, as the program is set to be incredible once again.

Visit iconic sites with music

The Philharmonie is not to be outdone, with its End-of-Season Party featuring 12 hours of non-stop music on June 29 in a prestigious setting.

Neumünster Abbey is also offering a series of concerts in the Abbey's magnificent setting from July 3. Discover the Abbey through music, and let yourself be carried away by your favorite style of music.

Les Rotondes ' "Cancelled Holidays" are also sure to please. With family aperitifs, exhibitions and DJ sets, you'll have no regrets about spending August in Luxembourg!

Festivities and fun

In terms of festivities, the traditional "Garer Kiermes" station fair will be held from June 7 to 23, 2024 on the Place de Paris in the Gare sector.

The Fête Nationale on June 22 and 23 will give the Luxembourg capital a festive air. Family attractions, food stalls and, above all, the fireworks display on June 22 will delight young and old alike.

The Bonnevoie district will take over with its kermesse from July 12 to 16, 2024 on Place Jeanne d'Arc. These fairs are an excellent opportunity to socialize with neighbors and enjoy a friendly, festive atmosphere.

A foretaste of the traditional Schueberfouer on the Champ du Glacis! This year, it will take place from August 23 to September 11, 2024.

The "Kanner in the City" animation will delight the little ones and families onAugust 2 and 3, 2024. For the occasion, the capital will be transformed into a giant playground, with entertainment for children in various locations around the capital. This year's theme is "Traust Du Dich? Do you dare?"

We also hope that the Parc de Merl will once again welcome sailboats to its pond. Something to delight all young freshwater sailors!

Sports activities... or not

The more active and sporty are not forgotten during the summer period. Numerous sporting activities await them. Luxembourg's Kinnekswiss offers both sports and relaxation. Villa Vauban also offers a variety of activities in the park.

And don't miss the JP Morgan City Jogging on July 7, 2024 to run or walk through Luxembourg City. Children as young as 5 can take part.

The Place du Théâtre should once again be fitted out with deckchairs and parasols for a relaxing beach effect.

In addition, the "Vëlosummer" event allows everyone to take their bikes and explore Luxembourg's signposted paths and roads. Some roads are even closed for the occasion! The 5th edition of this new eco-tourism event will run from Saturday July 27 to Sunday August 25, 2024.

Summer art activities in Luxembourg

Open-air cinema

As is the case every year, the cinema will also be taking up its summer quarters, offering open-air screenings. Would you like to see classic films or blockbusters again? Then make the most of an unusual setting right in the middle of the city, in the open air, and come to Luxembourg this summer.

Sessions take place every evening at 9:30 pm. They are maintained in case of rain. Plastic pilgrims are provided for bad weather. Films are shown in their original version with subtitles. Find out more about cinemas in Luxembourg

Outdoor painting and sculpture exhibitions

The Konscht Am Gronn takes place every first Sunday of the month until October. Take advantage of this event to stroll the streets of Grund and admire the works of local artists. These include painting, digital art, ceramics, woodworking and photography.

Reading and book fairs

If you're a fan of comics, don't miss the Festival de la BD in Contern on July 20 and 21, 2024 . This year's edition should be exceptional, as the festival is already celebrating its 30th anniversary!

And reading will not normally be forgotten. "D'Stad liest" offers visitors an open-air library with read-alouds . This Luxembourg City event is scheduled for late August-early September.

Other summer events in Luxembourg

Visit shopping events will also be there for fashionistas, with sales running from Saturday June 24 to Saturday July 20, 2024.

The Grande Braderie de Luxembourg is scheduled for early September. The date has yet to be confirmed.

Flea market enthusiasts will also be delighted with the garage sales held on the Champ du Glacis every 1st Sunday of the month from April to October. And don't miss the flea markets on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month on the Place d'Armes in Luxembourg.
