The midway point of the high school football season in Stark County arrived this week. Massillon fans will remember it for some time. The Tigers upset the state's reigning Division I champion and No. 1-ranked team, St. Edward, to highlight the night.
Elsewhere, Jackson made a huge play late to beat Perry; McKinley got its first win of the season and did so in decisive fashion on the road; Alliance got a big road win at Central Catholic; and Fairless and Lake each got to 5-0 while Hoover got its first Federal League win.
Here's some of our other coverage from earlier in the week: The initial OHSAA computer ratings, a look at the latest Associated Press state poll, a breakdown of this week's games, our picks for the week, this week's stat leaders, and our own area power poll.
